Lubumbashi, D.R.Congo
Known as Shegue, the number of street kids in the Democratic Republic of Congo is on the rise.
Accused of sorcery and guilty of nothing more than being homeless, these thousands of runaway and abandoned children are harassed, attacked and abused by the police and civilians on a daily basis.
Bakanja Ville is a shelter located in downtown Lubumbashi where young boys can sleep, shower and, sometimes, eat but even there, these scapegoat children are forced to live under the jungle law.
